Gary Jeffries BSc MBA FRICS

Managing Director

Specialist in major developments and in handling the property interests of major corporations and industrialists. Moved to Hughes Ellard in 1995 from Healey & Baker, where he set up the Austrian office. Formerly an associate director at Austin Adams Portsmouth.

Russell Mogridge Dip LPV MRICS

Director

Russell joined Hughes Ellard in late 2000 as Director bringing with him a wealth of experience, having worked for Vail Williams for 8.5 years as an Associate Partner. Russell was born and bred on the South Coast enabling him to have a unique understanding of the market which has enabled him to specialise in property acquisition - finding businesses new premises, recently acting for the  Royal Yachting Association and  TAG MacLaren.

Russell comments "Having worked for landlords and occupiers in the Southampton and Portsmouth markets I very much see the area as the 'Solent Corridor' with the excellent accessibility the M27 provides, this has been reinforced  by recent speculative  development from the likes of Canada Life and Prudential."

Carl Walker BSc (Hons) FRICS

Director

Carl joined Hughes Ellard in 1988 after five years in the Valuation Office of the Inland Revenue.  Besides specialising in property investment, he is experienced in all aspects of valuation, landlord & tenant work plus a niche specialism in medical premises.

"The details are important but, whether in agency or landlord & tenant work, too often surveyors are caught up in minutiae and point scoring and fail to see or strike the deal.  This costs the client money; for the private investor or pension fund it is interest or opportunities foregone as the cash stays on deposit; for the property company, the cash needs to be recirculated.  Reliability, speed and certainty can be as important as the highest price.

Specialist in valuations and professional services. Joined Hughes Ellard in 1995, having been a regional director for Stiles Harold Williams, which was then a subsidiary of the Alliance & Leicester. Over 30 years' experience of the property scene in Hampshire. An experienced arbitrator expert in landlord and tenant disputes. Has served on RICS committees locally and nationally.

Nik has over 15 years experience in the south coast property markets. Having previous led the Business Space teams in King Sturge and Chesterton in Southampton he has a wealth of experience in both the acquisition and disposal of Office and Industrial premises, together with  development and investment advice to local regional and National Clients. Graham Puddle DipSurv MRICS

Building Consultancy

Graham has in excess of 20 years property and construction related experience, having first qualified in Building Control working in Local Authority, before moving into the field of Commercial Building Surveying in the Private Sector. Graham has a wide breadth of experience and undertakes both professional and project related work; primarily pre-acquisition surveys and due diligence work, dilapidations advise, as well as project monitoring and contract administration roles. Graham's former employers include Ridge, Colliers CRE, Chesterton and Vail Williams, where he was Partner. Graham joined Hughes Ellard in April 2007 as Head of Building Consultancy with a remit to develop this side of the business.

Roger Sherliker BA (Hons) MRICS 

Valuation

Roger has been practising as a Chartered Surveyor in the Solent Conurbation for nearly 20 years specializing in valuation work, particularly for the major Banks. His work encompasses mortgage valuations on industrial, office and retail property together with a significant number of residential development appraisals on both new build schemes and conversion projects. Roger also deals with tax, probate and pension fund valuations. To compliment his valuation work, he negotiates rent reviews and lease renewals for both landlords and tenants.
